Finca Las Brumas
Finca Las Brumas was established by the Paguaga family in 1997. It is located in the San Fernando mountains adjacent to its sister farm, Finca Los Congos, and sharing similar topography. The mountain is covered with a pine tree forest and native animals roam around freely without being disturbed. In 2013, a neighbor sold his plot of land to the Paguagas allowing them to setup Las Brumas’ own micro-mill. The new plot was heavily impacted by roya and rigorous processes had to be implemented to salvage the trees; the Paguagas determination paid off and the plot successfully came back to life. They now use Las Brumas to experiment with new varietals and processes. The staff is well trained to identify the different varietals, hand pick and sort only the ripe fruit for the specific varietal to ensure high quality micro-lots. The coffee is processed immediately at the farm's own micro-mill and is then sun-dried on raised beds.
